Our Oz Adventure

This journal is to give some tips and bits on travelling around OZ, highlighting the best and the worst of what to do.

Our trip began with a stopover in Singapore which was an interesting place where the people are lovely, most things are never far away and a taxi ride is never more than a few pounds if you are travelling in the city centre.

The heat will drain you leaving you tired and grumpy. You must remember to drink lots you don't appreciate how quickly you become dehydrated you become.

Top picks include: the new Singapore Flyer - were you can see fantastic views of Singapore and beyond, the chair lift to Sentosa, the New Asia bar at the Stamford Plaza which is free if you re staying there or at the Fairmont.

Our find is a place called Dempsey Hill - go to Jones for a late breakfast - utterly fantastic!

The Long Bar in Raffles famous for the Singapore Sling - I felt was very over rated but we still did it - its one of those tick the boxes.

Shopping - don't expect the bargains of the old days - we tried Orchard Road and Singapore Airport unfortunately with the weak pound it was probably just as cheap at home - if the pound becomes strong again then you might be able to spot a couple of good buys.

Our next stop is Sydney .....

Well here we go!!

I thought it was about time I started a blog - well what to talk about - here goes! It’s taken many years to get here, after years of working for large organisations I always wanted to do something for me but I didn’t think I was ever brave enough to jump off the corporate ladder and give it a try.

And so one fine day I decided the time had come - but what should I do I thought long and hard about what that might be, then out of the blue I was reading an article and the rest is history as they say and so my Women's Online Magazine http://www.womenseverything.com/ was born.

I think its so important to follow your beliefs you only have one life and should make the most of it. It's not been easy having a vision then trying to create that vision - but you have to keep focused. It’s been a journey that I could never have predicted and for all the lows there have been some amazing highs and that's why I know I am now living my dream, creating my own destiny.

Starting your own business is never easy - its being able to adapt and make decisions all day long. At first that's really hard but as time goes on suddenly you are doing it without even realising. You rely so much on your gut instincts and I think 99% of the time it proves to be right. I’ve had so many knock backs I’ve lost count but funnily the more you have the greater your resilience becomes.

So what does my typical day look like well most of the time I’m sat behind a desk researching new ideas, scouring the internet, making new contacts. But more to follow on that.....
